2021 Judicial Conference Program
• Supported TE in developing and conducting new MDEC 2.0 courses, including, but not limited to, District Court Courtroom Processing, Warrants, Bonds, and Bond Forfeitures, Circuit Court Intra-Court Processing, etc. • Supported TE in transitioning the New Employee Technology Orientation (NETO)face-to-face course to an online, instructor-led format. • Supported TE in transitioning the New Employee Technology Orientation for Judges and Magistrates (NETO-J) face-to-face course to an online, instructor-led format. • Supported TE in planning, developing, and piloting the NETO eLearning course. • Supported TE in assisting Professional Development in their development of 78 interactive lessons for the Supervisor CORE proficiency-based education initiative, as well as created 2 on-demand videos. • Supported TE in developing numerous quick reference guides and quick reference cards (QRCs) to support Judiciary systems and processes. • Supported TE in identifying and resolving Crestron system related issues at the MJC. • Supported TE in developing and administering internal SharePoint sites for the Judicial College. • Supported TE in providing second tier help desk support for 417 ServiceNow incidents. Goals and Initiatives for the Upcoming Year • Expanded Zoom for Government Training: TE will develop and provide additional training opportunities and resources, including webinars, workshops, and documentation, to support remote proceedings using Zoom for Government. • Online Distance Learning: TE will develop and launch online, instructor-led, distance learning courses for a variety of Microsoft Office topics. • New Employee Technology Orientation (NETO) eLearning Course: TE will develop and launch a self- paced, interactive, NETO online eLearning course. The course is anticipated to launch in July 2021 and will be mandatory for all new Judiciary employees. New Law Clerk Orientation Work Group • Transitioned the New Law Clerk Orientation from a historically onsite experience to a virtual hybrid program involving an on-demand video series that is general for both circuit court and District Court new law clerks and an individualized series of videos targeted to circuit court new law clerks and for District Court new law clerks with a live FAQ panel of experienced former law clerks. This new virtual program went live in the fall of 2020. Goals and Initiatives for the Upcoming Year • Review and critique the hybrid virtual New Law Clerk Orientation to refine further. • Explore various platforms for the live FAQ session with experienced former law clerks. Administrative Judge Work Group • Determined the order of the modules to be presented in Administrative Judge CORE. • Reviewed Supervisor & Manager CORE modules and identified the modules that would be good resources for administrative judges to support the professional needs of other judges. • Began collecting content for the first module on supervision. • Created a template for the New Administrative Judge CORE manual. • Began adding content to the New Administrative Judge CORE manual template.
