The subcommittee also suggested data to compile, including, but not limited to, the number of men and women incarcerated, disaggregated by race, by offense, etc. and demographics on individuals in alternative sentencing programs. The final area of discussion was for the members to consider experts and speakers the subcommittee might benefit from to hearing from as it addresses the various areas identified.

Work groups will be created to provide targeted focus on the various areas.

The subcommittee has begun compiling a reading list of articles, reports, and surveys that will be helpful as background information.
